Digital Divide:

What is digital divide?

digital divide is an economic inequality between groups, broadly construed, in terms of access to, use of, or knowledge of information and communication technologies (ICT). The divide inside countries (such as the digital divide in the United States) can refer to inequalities between individuals, households, businesses, and geographic areas at different socioeconomic and other demographic levels, while the Global digital divide designates countries as the units of analysis and examines the divide between developing and developed countries on an international scale.

Solutions:

Take refuge and tele-transport to an island where only the digitally sophisticated exist in a wireless land, lush with free wi-fi that grows on trees. Unrealistic, but I admit I’ve often fantasized of similar scenarios and have thought this utopian world may be an easier solution than being an agent of change leading others through the digital divide.
Many of us can see the big picture, drive the latest technologies and connect the dots throughout our own communities. Unfortunately, mainstream does not reflect the mindset represented by the 200+ attendees at Explore in Nashville last week. Therefore, we all must return to the real world where we are faced with daily challenges from the digital divide. I gathered a handful of takeaways from Friday’s event to help you as you navigate on your journey, beyond the digital divide.

Excel And Modeling

What is Microsoft Excel?

Excel is an electronic spreadsheet program that can be used for storing, organizing and manipulating data. Microsoft Excel is easy to use and has very many features so the more you use it the more you learn. The Excel spreadsheet has great documentation through the built-in help menu.

Modeling:

Spreadsheet modelling is a document built specially for any purposes and in any industry like in financial services, customer services etc. A model can be used to trial possibilities financially without harm in order to check how much is made, leftover, lost etc. Models are good because the formulae auto update thus allowing for endless experimenting in business etc. There are many types of models such as Bank/Debt analysis, Business Planning (Budgeting) etc.

1.creating a well structured model for a particular type or group of problems
2. It is reusable
3. It is generalized
4. Result /output is well structured

The system life cycle is a series of stages that are worked through during the development of a new information system.
A lot of time and money can be wasted if a system is developed that doesn’t work properly or do exactly what is required of it.
A new system is much more likely to be successful if it is carefully planned and developed.

The System Development Life Cycle

The system development life cycle has the following phases:
  1. Requirements AnalysisGathering of the system requirements takes place in this phase. A detailed study of the business needs of the organisation is included. Options for changing the business process may be considered.
  2. DesignDesign focuses on high level design (such as the programs that are needed and how they will interact), low-level design (how the individual programs are going to work), interface design (what are the interfaces going to look like), and data design (what data will be required). During this phase the system's overall structure is defined.
  3. DevelopmentIn this phase the designs are translated into code.
  4. Integration and TestThe execution of the tests (created for testing the system) takes place in this phase. Normally programs are written as a series of individual modules, each subject to separate, detailed tests. The system is then tested as a whole; that is, the separate modules are brought together and tested as a complete system. The system is tested to ensure that interfaces between modules work (integration testing), that the system works on the intended platform and with the expected volume of data (volume testing), and that the system does what the user requires (acceptance and beta testing).
  5. Operation and MaintenanceInevitably the system will need maintenance. Software will definitely undergo change once it is delivered to the customer. There are many reasons for a potential change. Change could happen because of some unexpected input values into the system. Changes in the system could directly affect the software operation. The software should be developed to accommodate changes that could happen during the post implementation period.

Central Air Conditioners:

Central AC is an air conditioning system that uses ducts to distribute cooled and/or dehumidified air to more than one room, or uses pipes to distribute chilled water to heat exchangers in more than one room, and which is not plugged into a standard electrical outlet.

Working Of Air Conditioners.

You must understand that it is composed of two main parts: first your air conditioning system. Condenser and evaporator. Lines and air lines that connect the two.
We start with the capacitor. This is a square box out of your home. This is your coolant, and is composed of compressor and blower. Compresses the refrigerant gas from the liquid state. If you encounter this problem, it is very hot. Cooling it to work as a fan of the radiator.
Fluid, the liquid moves through a coil of copper wire inside your house and the evaporator. The evaporator is a cool hot air is drawn out of the house really. Cooling fans, and even a fan to circulate air through the return of all rooms and house or building ducts. The sensors used in an AC are pressure and temperature sensors.
It will rise, warm air is lighter than cold air. Hot air is blown into the ground so that a hole in your house, suck warm air and cold air through the room at the bottom of the hole. Be inhaled through the mouth to cool the evaporator is returned to the hot air is returned to his home again. Back time and again and the cold air in your home or more, again and again. Out of the air, since all the moisture, thus allowing it to dry after a while, and that’s why it kind of humidifier.

Advantages and disadvantages of biometric systems:

Disadvantages of a biometric system.

  • -The finger print of those people working in Chemical industries are often affected. Therefore these companies should not use the finger print mode of authentication.

  • -It is found that with age, the voice of a person differs. Also when the person has flu or throat infection the voice changes or if there there are too much noise in the environment this method maynot authenticate correctly. Therefore this method of verification is not workable all the time

  • -For people affected with diabetes, the eyes get affected resulting in differences.
  • Biometrics is an expensive security solution.

Advantages of Biometrics :

*  Increase security - Provide a convenient and low-cost additional tier of security.

* Reduce fraud by employing hard-to-forge technologies and materials. For e.g.Minimise the opportunity for ID fraud, buddy     punching.

* Eliminate problems caused by lost IDs or forgotten passwords by using physiological attributes. For e.g. Prevent   unauthorised use of lost, stolen or "borrowed" ID cards.

*  Reduce password administration costs.

*  Replace hard-to-remember passwords which may be shared or observed.
